What are your fears and expectations?
That got dark quickly, but it's a good sharp start to the chapter.
Shit, meet fan. The two of you are going to become very well-acquainted.
It begins again. I'm so, SO thrilled that FiB is back!
Mass murdering! Yay!!!
Assuming it works on Celestia, of course. Why wouldn't it?
Because there's only one of her.
Then again, there IS that mirror pool...
Murdering, though. Can't really go wrong with that. Unless you're seen, because then it turns into one of THOSE plans.
Edit to above comment: *Reads last few pages* Ah. Now I see where the 'mass' comes in. Mirror pool is still valid, though.
If you murder the yellow one then you can't use the elements against Celestia.
True. Although assuming there is a traitor, there's no hope to ever be able to use the elements to begin with.
Twilight's hopes of using the elements have very much gone down the pooper by the time the existence of a traitor was certain.
So long as that traitor is not Rarity then Rarity and Twilight together should be able to use enough black magic on them to swing their allegiance for the time necessary to make the rainbow.
First, I never trust authors in conversations about their works. They seem as likely to be lying as they mistaken or simply haven't thought that far a head.
As for being able to use the Elements of Harmony we know a couple things here. First a team of 6 is NOT required. Celestia can use them all by herself, Celestia and Luna used them as a pair (or at least nobody else is mentioned in the defeat of Discord) It wouldn't shock me at all if even in the cannon proper (much less a comic that may need a work around of three or just functions on it's own set of rules) if you need someone who can represent each of the elements, not six people. Though Twi may not suspect that yet.
So why did they need Rainbow Dash to defeat Discord in the season 2 premier?
Let's say you can only use The Elements if they find you worthy. Celestia and Luna were worthy, at least in that universe. In that universe, too, no one is able to carry the Element of Loyalty fully except her. Maybe the reason why all of them worked last time was because Twilight's hate was so strong, and they had the same common goal.
It's hard to tell because we don't have anyway of knowing for sure what rules are in play here. I would argue that even in cannon Rainbow Dash and Apple Jack would be better suited to switch elements and Rarity is generous? Compared to who exactly?
The biggest reason they failed that time was probably because thanks to Discord there was no harmony between the users.
I thought as much too until "Keep Calm and Flutter on." Discord wasn't afraid of 5 fully realized elements once Fluttershy promised not to use hers. Its almost appropriate she's in the same position now.
Sure, but why couldn't both be true? Even if Dash had been there I really doubt they could use the Elements with 5 of them discorded.
Awesome to see more of this. It's been mentioned before that RDs first Sonic Rainboom killed everyone in Cloudsdale, will we get flashbacks to how/why that happened? Was it deliberate or an accident?
